Going to Valletta and hoping to take some great pictures? Here's a guide to some of those special, not-to-be-missed spots.

1. Valletta skyline

The best locations to take a picture of the famous Valletta skyline across Marsamxett Harbour are from Manoel Island or the Sliema Ferries.

2. Valletta Bastions & Grand Harbour

Or check out the towering Valletta bastions from across the Grand Harbour; from Isla or Birgu.

8. St Barbara Bastions

Not as well known, but this one is a winner. Complete with stunning bastions and harbour views from a tree-lined street, the St Barbara Bastions is considered one of the most exclusive addresses in Europe and it is certainly one of the most picturesque.

10. Valletta streets

Any street on the way around Valletta will offer photo opportunities: niches, ornate sculpted balconies, old shop signs, and so on. UNESCO's 'one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world' is practically an open-air museum.

11. Republic Street

Walk up and down Republic Street: it will offer a crazy selection of amazing architecture for you to relish. Make sure you check out the Grand Master's Palace in St George's Square, and Pjazza Regina.
