Artist Biography:
Maria Cassar started attending the Gozo Art School and was subsequently tutored by Ray Pitrè. Later, she took part in art sessions at the studio of Harry Alden, under whose guidance Maria sharpened her eye and was guided to look at subjects from different artistic points of view. During this period Maria started to explore new styles, and seek different solutions in how to express her feelings in a more creative manner.
Ms Cassar is not interested in minute detail. For her, colour is more important as it is more expressive. Colour represents and emits light in all its glory.
Ms Cassar took part in various solo and collective exhibitions. Her works are in numerous private collections in Malta and abroad.
