The Azure Window may be gone, but it will never be forgotten. It lives on in the memory of locals and visitors alike - as well as in countless photos and Instagram pics!

And, this Sunday 11th March will see a slew of activities taking place in Dwejra to mark the one-year anniversary since the geological landmark fell crashing into the sea.

Public information talks by geological experts will be given, together with sessions on the area’s flora and fauna, and, in a sign of the importance of safeguarding the area, a clean-up is also being organised by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps.

Dwejra can still be enjoyed by sports enthusiasts and those craving a rush of adrenalin. In fact, this Sunday will see the more adventurous abseil down rock faces and archery sessions run by the Victoria Scouts group.

Following the window’s collapse, unique rock formations were created under the sea, and diver Joseph Caruana will be at the event on Sunday to shed light on the stunning underwater landscapes forged from the ruins of the iconic landmark.

The Azure Window collapsed in March of last year, when strong winds and dramatic waves brought it down to its final resting place. Check out it's haunting remains this Sunday.
