‘I’m really happy to be here’ – Maltese footballer joins leading Irish football club
24-year-old Kyrian Nwoko, a promising Maltese footballer and son of former Malta international footballer Chucks Nwoko, has officially been signed to leading Irish club St Patrick’s Athletics.
Finalising the move that’s been in the making for some time, the club announced the signing on their social media channels earlier this week.
“It feels very good to have signed, I’m really looking forward to getting started and to help the team continue to progress in the league,” Kyrian says in the video interview, adding, “I’ve had a few good seasons with Valletta, winning a couple of leagues, I felt I need a new challenge and I’m really happy to be here.”
The footballer is joining the Irish club on a loan deal from Malta’s Valletta football club, and will stay until the end of the season in November.
The young athlete has represented Malta 21 times and has also helped win a couple of league titles.
In a post on his own Facebook page, Kyrian went on to thank Valletta for the last four years, including, “my teammates along the years who became like brothers. The coaches, committee, Vice President and President who believed in me in the first place. The loyal supporters who were behind us through thick and thin!”
