Situated under the silent city of Mdina and named after his spouse lies a small boutique winery called Maria Rosa wine estate. Maria Rosa wine estate was established in 2006 after a life-long dream of Mr Joseph Fenech who wanted to produce some wine as his father did in his youth. Maria Rosa estate stands on 4.2 hectors of agricultural land which is divided into three varieties namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Sirakuzan. Surrounding the estate one can also find olive trees from which pure extra virgin olive oil is produced. Maria Rosa Wine Estate is focused to produce high end Maltese quality wines with great emphasis on the quality rather than quantity. For quality reasons the annual wine production is kept limited to between 18-20 thousand bottles.
