Geogeeks[edit]

Some idea of a workflow for the Geogeeks' Maps for Lost Towns project:

  1. Search for SRO items with scans.
  2. Download the file and upload it to Commons, naming it descriptively.
  3. Change the {{Information}} template to {{Map}}, and add the file to Category:Items from the State Records Office of Western Australia.
  4. There will be a link to import the map to Wikimaps Warper (it'll prompt you to authenticate with your Commons account).
  5. Add the map to Wikimaps Warper.
  6. Go to the 'Rectify' tab.
  7. Add a custom basemap to the map on the right, with this URL: https://agri.openstreetmap.org/{zoom}/{x}/{y}.png
  8. Add control points.
  9. Rectify.
