File:Australopithecus sediba reconstruction.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Hi Dunkleosteus77, please only use {{Copyvio}} for obvious cases. Thanks, Multichill (talk) 19:23, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Taxidermy of Philippine crocodile[edit]
Hello Dunkleosteus77! I want to get your opinion on images of the recently-deceased Lolong crocodile at this category (since I saw you started the Commons:Deletion requests/Hominin photos violating FoP (part 2) hehe). I assume taxidermies are similar to Hominin 3D works that allegedly have subsisting DW copyrights, but I'm not totally sure. Note that we do not have FOP at this moment, and I'm not sure when will the pending IP amendment bill be passed. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 18:30, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- I just saw this plate, and it states that the scuentific and technical staff of the National Museum is the one who made this taxidermy. While COM:Philippines states that no copyright subsists in works of the Philippine government, the sole question is if the staff created the taxidermy as "the result of the performance of (their) regularly-assigned duties" (ref. Section 178.3; which will make the taxidermy PD) or not. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 18:47, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- In the US, according to this, the copyrights of taxidermies have been upheld as they are viewed as original works, especially in this case as it is a taxidermy of a specific individual, not just a generic crocodile. I can't tell if a museum employee made it or if they commissioned a taxidermist, in the latter case copyright is applicable Dunkleosteus77 (talk) 19:07, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Platanista gangetica noaa.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).
