WATCH: Making a splash! Olympic diver sets new personal best at Gozo’s Wied il-Mielah
Laura Marino won a gold medal at the 2017 World Aquatics Championship.
It’s a known fact that Malta’s luscious beaches and sea are some of the main reasons thousands of tourists visit our country every summer.
Testament to that is French Olympic starlet Laura Marino’s latest jaw-dropping feat which has, quite literally, left us gasping for air.
Earlier this week, the 28-year-old professional diver took to social media to post a video of herself doing what she does best at Gozo’s iconic Wied il-Mielah.
The young daredevil confidently jumped off of the 22-metre-high cliff’s edge, only to land gracefully in the crystal-clear waters below.
We’re getting nervous just looking at her jump…
“Incredible energy from the whole team, unbelievable records for everyone, amazing spot,” Laura wrote.
“Hard to end this Malta trip in a better way. I feel so grateful for this experience with everyone,” she continued.
As you can imagine, Laura’s no stranger to stomach-churning dives.
In fact, back in 2017 she won the gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships team event, along with her partner Matthieu Rosset. Laura even represented France in the diving category at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Hey, maybe she can teach us a thing or two about the sport!
