Dmitry had represented Malta in the ‘Eurovision Young Musicians’ competition back in 2016.
Despite Malta’s small size, it’s home to some humongous talent, and 16-year-old concert-pianist prodigy Dmitry Ishkhanov is testament to that.
Having started playing the piano when he was just four years old, Dmitry has now performed in venues all around the world – we’re talking New York, France, Italy, and Switzerland, to mention a few.
Amongst local audiences, Dmitry might be best known for representing Malta in the ‘Eurovision Young Musicians’ competition back in 2016 – although that’s just one achievement from his impressively prolific international career.
It just so happens that Dmitry will soon be making his debut at Malta’s very own Manoel Theatre…
That’s right! This Wednesday 10th November, you can catch this piano prodigy performing a Chopin Recital LIVE at the country’s national theatre!
Thanks to the latest updates to event restrictions, audience members at the Manoel Theatre won’t be socially distanced, thus giving way to an amazing atmosphere. Having said that, patrons will still be required to wear masks throughout.
The young pianist spoke to the Teatru Manoel team to give some insight into his upcoming concert.
“When I think of romanticism, Chopin comes to mind immediately. His style depicts the search for the meaning of life and touches the depth of the human soul,” Dmitry said.
Amongst other pieces, the pianist will be performing Chopin’s Four Mazurkas Op. 17 and Nocturne Op. 27 No. 1.
Ticket prices range from €10 to €20, although students and senior citizens can benefit from discounted prices.
