Local food with a twist! Gozitan Gourmet finally opening its first official shop in Victoria
Gozitan Gourmet serves a myriad of different types of local fresh food.

Over the past year, a Gozitan husband and wife duo opened up a small business selling local delicacies through an online shop after having worked in the catering industry for 15 years.

What started out as a small experiment and hobby soon grew to be a successful business sought out by many locals.

Originally only selling local delicacies, they soon expanded into arranged hampers and started making artisanal souvenirs for weddings, birthdays and holy communions.  They then grew even bigger and strated making fun finger party food.

They are now finally opening a proper shop in the heart of the Gozo capital. In just two weeks time, their shop at Ghajn Qatet street in Victoria will open its doors for all to stop by, visit and shop.

We are halfway there and cannot wait to open our doors for you and show you our brand-new shop!”, they wrote on Facebook.

But how did they get such an idea and where did it all begin?

“It all started from when we were young and we used to regularly go with our grandpa in the family fields. We were brought up loving the nature and we always had our crops on the dinner table”, they told GuideMeMalta.com.

“When covid hit we ended up having more time than ever and we spent more time at the fields thus, we had more produce”, they added.

The two have had quite the journey already and thanks to their delicious innovations they’re about to expand their products even further to locals and tourists alike.

“[Our Food] is something different than the normal party food we are used to in Gozo, with that being said it’s always a risk to take and you never know how the clients would respond to that”, they continued to express to GuideMeMalta.com.

“Now we are fulfilling a dream we had since the first days. as we are going into our second year in business, our first Gozitan gourmet outlet is about to open […] Just in time for Christmas hampers”

Best of luck on this new journey and we can’t wait to see what else you have in store!
