Looking to enjoy a fun family day out with a twist? Then we’ve got just the event for you.
The beloved International Kite & Wind Festival is returning to the skies of Gharb, Gozo for its fifth edition on 15th and 16th October – and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
For starters, internationally renowned kite flyers will be colouring the skies with acrobatic kite tricks and routines performed to music.
Kids will also be able to get in on the action by participating in a series of kite-making workshops.
If you’re more of a visual learner, then make sure to check out the festival’s stunning displays about the art of kite making and kite traditions from around the world.
There will be plenty of kites up in the sky and down on the ground for visitors to admire, but if you really want to make this experience last a lifetime, then make sure to get your hands on your own kite from one of the on-site vendors.
The festival is also set to be home to a children’s area, food and drink stalls, music, a traditional fair, and much more!
Parking will be available on-site, however the Gharb Local Council encourages visitors to bike or walk to the festival’s location.
The council also advises visitors to obey traffic directions given by Transport Malta officials, community officials, and any other badge-wearing helpers.
Whilst encouraging people from all walks of life to attend the event, Gharb Mayor David Apap urged visitors to remain environmentally conscious throughout their visit and warned against entering cultivated fields.
The International Kite & Wind Festival will be taking place at San Dimitri, Gharb, between 9am and 5:30pm on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October.
The festival is under the management of the Gharb Local Council, with the full support of the Ministry of Gozo and the Cultural Heritage Directorate.
