Be careful! Half of Maltese beaches marked unsafe to swim in today
This may be subject to change as the day passes.

As the unbearable heat continues to rise, most people and tourists in Malta are making their way to the beach. Unfortunately, according to the popular ‘Maltese Islands Weather’ page on Facebook, many sought after beaches here in Malta and Gozo have been deemed unsafe to swim in.

These include, Wied il-Ghasri, Dwejra and San Blas in Gozo together with Marfa, Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Marsaxlokk, Pretty Bay, Fomm ir-Rih, Gnejna Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha, Golden Bay, Anchor Bay and Paradise Bay in Malta.

That being said, a good portion of Maltese and Gozitan beaches are still perfectly safe to swim in on this hot summer day, including favourites such as Gozo’s Ramla l-Hamra, Sliema and Saint Paul’s Bay.

The above reports “are based on changes in wind, wave and currents; along with reports from the general public”, Maltese Islands Weather wrote on Facebook.

Did this effect your swimming plans for the day?
