There are still plenty of beaches to choose from.

The August heat has not been a friend to anyone here in Malta, hence why we can only imagine just how many people will be cooling off with a quick dip at the beach this evening…

Unfortunately, based on reports by Maltese Islands Weather, around half of all beaches around Malta and Gozo have been deemed unsafe to swim at today.

“Updates are based on changes in wind, wave and currents; along with reports from the general public”, the weather page wrote.

Here are the beaches you should avoid today:

  • Qbajjar
  • San Blas Bay
  • Dahlet Qorrot
  • Hondoq ir-Rummien
  • Marfa
  • Ramla l-Bir
  • Little Armier
  • Armier Bay
  • Mellieha bay (including Ghadira Bay)

  • Mistra Bay
  • Qawra
  • Saint Paul’s Bay
  • Bahar ic-Caghaq
  • St George’s Bay
  • Sliema
  • Marsaskala

Here the beaches that have been marked safe:

  • Xwejni Bay
