It’s ready! The regeneration project of St Francis Square in Victoria, Gozo has finally come to an end, with the square being unveiled later this evening. Earlier today, Minister Camilleri invited everyone for the inauguration of the square happening tonight.
Following its regeneration, the square will now be open to the public once more, giving new life to the busy town square. Works included the paving and embellishment of the square, making it more accessible for the public. The project was announced in April last year, with Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri giving the latest update on the final stages of the works back in June.
St Francis Square is receiving some much-needed TLC, with other projects contracted in the area including a new health centre and new steps. In a recent press conference, Minister Clint Camilleri also announced that the Santa Margerita Square in Sannat will be next to follow suit, saying that such projects in Gozitan localities are being given importance, considering the pjazez (squares) are the heart of the towns.
