A blast from the past!

The Valletta iconic staple, D’Amato Records has taken to Facebook to share a photo, alerting everyone’s nostalgia radar.

The photo shows their iconic paper shopping bag that was used all the way back in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Locals instantly began to comment, expressing how some of them still have these specific paper bags and hold onto them for nostalgia’s sake. Perhaps they should make a comeback…

The iconic shop opened all the way back in 1885, that’s almost 140 years ago to put things in context. It even claims to be the oldest record shop in all of the world.

D’Amato records only closed down during the mandatory Covid shutdowns. The shop is so incredibly iconic that it even refused to shut down during World War II when countless of bombs were being dropped around Valletta.
