Malta's swimming legend Neil Agius has been nominated for yet another prestigious award!
The World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) has shortlisted Neil and 15 other international swimmers for the 'Man of the Year Award'.
The former Olympian has broken national and international records throughout his impressive career, however, it’s his incredible 52-hour swim from Linosa to Gozo last summer that put him on WOWSA's nominee list for the second time.
"What an honor to be considered for such a prestigious international award. I really can't believe it,” Neil wrote on Instagram.
Aside from dominating the Mediterranean during his swims, Neil is quite the hero when he's on dry land too...
The swimmer is an ocean pollution advocate and co-founder of the 'Wave of Change' campaign, which aims to raise awareness about ocean pollution and works to keep our seas clean.
