Look at it go! Waterspout spotted off the coast of Gozo
The footage was shot yesterday.

The Maltese Islands were served some seriously wild weather yesterday, with plenty of rain and lots of wind hitting the country.

Most interestingly, however, was the funnel cloud that formed close to the coast of Gozo, right before sunset...

Local weather page It-Temp Madwarna took to social media to share an image of this meteorological phenomenon that seemed a bit too close for comfort.

The post explained that the waterspout later developed into a mini sea hurricane!

Waterspouts are intense vortexes that arise over a body of water that are usually associated with developing storms. Could this be a warning of more rainy weather to come?

Did you spot yesterday's waterspout?
