Party like it’s hot! 8 clubs and bars in Malta that we miss
Throwing it back!

Jillian Mallia

We’re throwing it back, baby! These clubs were the bomb diggity back in the day and we totally wish they’re still around for this generation to experience them (and for us to have one last night at these fab places!).

1. Hotch

Hotch was a legendary bar and was known as the king of shots, since they were famous for their wacko shot called Hotchie. Four of these guaranteed one heck of a hangover. #WorthIt

2. Koyote

Those were the days! Koyote was one of the spots where we’d dance our tushes off until the early morning hours. Those clanky stairs were quite the task to climb up or down after having one too many drinks...

3. Lines

Lines was the first port of call on a drunken night out. Shots, pitchers, fav drinks – you name it. But you’d definitely start off the night here.

4. Plush

Plush was bang in the middle of the square, right opposite Burger King. This joint was famous for its cheap pitchers you’d get with the voucher cards given out right outside.

5. Chequers

Chequers was a popular nightclub right in the heart of Paceville and had great prices and offers on drinks. The terrace was the bomb, too if you needed a breather from the dance floor.

6. Hacienda

Hacienda was found in the heart of the Baystreet Shopping Complex and was mostly a bar but doubled up as a club, too for certain events.

7. Sabor

In its heyday, this prominent club was probably one of the best. Sabor was the place to be, well, practically everyday of the week during the summer months.

8. Axis

The motherload of clubs was Axis back in the day. Guaranteed to be packed like sardines, Axis was the place to be to groove to epic '90s tunes. Now, it’s a few souvenir shops and a Subway joint. #Sad
