The Aida opera has officially been postponed to October 2022.
It has been announced that the Gozo opera originally planned to open during the 2020/2021 theatre season will be rescheduled for the second time to the 15th of October 2022.
This comes as a result of the limiting COVID-19 pandemic regulations. In consideration of both front-of-house and backstage hands, it would be near impossible to follow the social-distancing regulations implemented by the health authorities on a stage such as that of the Aurora, the Opera House said in a statement.
Already have a ticket? No worries!
In light of this, Teatru tal-Opra Aurora has informed opera-goers that any tickets purchased for the Aida 2021 production will automatically be transferred to a reservation for Aida 2022. An updated ticket will be emailed in the near future. Still, if you prefer to opt for a refund, you can get in touch on [email protected] for a refund to be issued in full.
“Teatru tal-Opra Aurora would like to thank the Ministry for Gozo and Arts Council Malta for their unwavering support as well the patrons who have continuously expressed their sympathy and loyalty during these trying times,” a representative said.
