WATCH: Roam around Ramla l-Hamra’s idyllic secret beach
The beach is locally known as ‘Ix-Xtajta Beach’.

In one of his vlogs, local explorer Angelo Caruana took his followers on an amazing journey in Xaghra, Gozo, in search of one of the area’s so-called ‘secret’ beaches.

Said beach, commonly referred to by locals as ‘Ix-Xtajta Beach’ is rather hard to get to, making it less likely to be frequented by beach-goers.

Angelo started his hike from the iconic ‘Ramla l-Hamra Bay’ before making his way along a path on the hills adjacent to Marsalforn. This trail gave way to some breath-taking views of Gozo’s green countryside.

The explorer eventually found a path leading to the secret beach. ‘Ix-Xtajta’ is rather rocky, however, red sand from ‘Ramla l-Hamra’ can still be seen underneath the pebbles.

Despite the fact that the beach is rather secluded, Angelo still found an alarming amount of litter scattered throughout the area.

Have you ever been to this secret beach?
